We are Gilbert and Michel, two engineers who met about three years ago at the university we attended in Montreal. Since  then, we have become very good friends.

We both live in Montreal, Quebec (Canada). Gilbert is currently doing his first PhD (maybe not the last!) in electrical engineering, and Michel has just finished a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

But what brings two engineers of different interests together? Crazy ideas! The ride between Vancouver, B.C., to Santa Barbara, California, is our first bicycle touring trip. It’s certainly going to be a rich experience, probably a demanding one. What motivates us? The love of nature, the interest in discovering new places, the pleasure of meeting people, and, not to forget, the challenge this represents!

Let’s hope that during our forty day trip, we don’t get too much on each others’ nerves!
